Driving Faith Forward: A Great Day at the Bishop’s Golf Classic
We were thrilled to welcome golfers to Arrowhead Country Club for the 13th Annual Bishop’s Golf Classic, and once again, we were reminded how generous our golfers, sponsors and supporters are. While the goal is always to have a great day on the course, what matters most is knowing that this event helps support three vital Catholic ministries serving western South Dakota: Catholic Social Services, the Rapid City Catholic School System and the Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation.
This year, we introduced the new Driving Faith Forward Challenge, putting three priests head-to-head in a little friendly competition at Hole 18. Thanks to the generosity of our golfers and supporters, the challenge raised $8,331. Father Adam Hofer took first place, meaning 50% of the proceeds will benefit Catholic Social Services, with the remaining 50% split between the Rapid City Catholic School System and the Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation.

A Little Putting Luck
The Putting Challenge also raised $1,580. Half of the proceeds went to the three golfers who made the putt, with Austin Eichaker, Jason Potts and Jim Webster each walking away with some cash. The other half was added to the tournament’s overall proceeds.
Once again, the $10,000 hole-in-one prize went unclaimed. We’re still waiting for someone to take that shot! Maybe next year will finally be the year someone walks away with $10,000.
