At the Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation, we believe giving is about more than financial support. It is an act of faith, gratitude, and joy.

This year, the Foundation prayerfully adopted a new mission statement that reflects both who we are and the work God continues to do through faithful generosity across the Diocese of Rapid City:

This mission reflects both our purpose and our hope for the future. While the words are new, the mission itself has guided the Foundation since 1992.

At the center of everything we do is Christ’s mission. Faith-filled giving creates more than immediate impact. It plants seeds for future generations. Every act of generosity helps strengthen the Church and supports ministries that bring people closer to Christ.

When people give generously, they participate in the work of the Gospel. They help ensure that future generations will encounter vibrant parishes, strong Catholic education, faithful priests, and ministries that continue serving communities throughout western South Dakota.

Our guiding theme, Rooted in Christ. Bearing Fruit for Generations., reflects this vision. Just as roots provide strength and stability for growth, our faith in Christ sustains the work of the Church and allows it to flourish for years to come.

The Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation was born from a simple belief: faithful generosity, carefully stewarded, can transform the Church for generations. For more than three decades, we have been honored to walk alongside donors, parishes, ministries, and families throughout the Diocese of Rapid City in supporting the mission of the Church.

Through endowments and charitable giving, donors help provide long-term support for seminarian education, Catholic schools, parish ministries, vocations, outreach programs, and countless other efforts that strengthen the Church across western South Dakota.

We are deeply grateful to the many donors, pastors, parish leaders, and faithful Catholics who continue to live out this mission through prayer, generosity, and stewardship. Because of your support, the Church in western South Dakota continues to grow, serve, and proclaim the Gospel.
