On July 28, the Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation gathered with ministry leaders, supporters, and community partners for a very special occasion. At our annual Grant Awards Luncheon, we celebrated the distribution of more than 1.1 million dollars to Catholic ministries and organizations throughout the Diocese of Rapid City.
It was a beautiful afternoon filled with gratitude, hope, and shared purpose. Together, we honored the incredible work being done across western South Dakota and the donors who make that work possible.
Real Ministry, Real Impact
These grants are not just about dollars. They represent real help for real people.
Thanks to our generous donors and the faithful stewardship of funds, this year’s grants support a wide variety of ministries. Some of the funding was directed by donors to beloved organizations like Catholic Social Services, Real Presence Radio, and the Rapid City Catholic School System.
Other grants focused on serving those most in need, including Native American ministries, rural faith formation programs, and outreach efforts like the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Standing Rock Reservation Ministry.
Unrestricted grants also supported parishes in small communities, college campus ministries, and other programs that are vital to keeping our Catholic faith strong in this region.

During the luncheon, we heard firsthand how these ministries are changing lives. It was a reminder that when we come together in faith and generosity, we can make an incredible difference.
