We are excited to share some wonderful news for Catholic education in western South Dakota. A generous donor has given $50,000 to establish the new Rapid City Catholic School System (RCCSS) Flourishing Staff Fund at the Western South Dakota Catholic Foundation (WSDCF).
Here’s how it works: gifts to this endowment fund are invested by WSDCF, and the earnings will directly support the salaries and benefits of teachers and staff in the Rapid City Catholic School System. By creating a long-term endowment, this fund provides a sustainable way to honor the dedication of our teachers while strengthening Catholic education for generations to come.
For decades, RCCSS teachers and staff have faithfully served our children, often making personal financial sacrifices. Parents provide tuition, parishes contribute support, but until now, a third funding source has been missing. Without this long-term foundation, recruiting and retaining high-quality educators has been a constant challenge.
This first gift is a powerful beginning, but it is only the start. As the fund grows, so will its impact. Every contribution, large or small, helps build a future where our teachers are supported not only in spirit, but also in the fair compensation they deserve.
